Note from the 2022-23 Editors

After the 2022 AGM Kathy Webb and I were approached by the SGHC Committee to edit one edition of The Saluki each in order to take the magazine through the Centennial year. 

We came to the conclusion that Joint Editorship of both the 2022 and 2023 magazines would work best for us and SGHC. We put this to the Committee and they were happy to confirm our appointments.

Having agreed to take on the editorship of The Saluki, we are both very enthusiastic that the 2022 edition should provide as much information as possible and generate an ongoing interest in the events which will be held to celebrate 2023. It will, of course, also include a selection of the usual items on all subjects Saluki. The 2023 edition is to be a very special celebration of a Century of Salukis in the UK – with as wide a variety of subjects, events, and people throughout the last 100 years featured. 

We are of course already looking for adverts for 2022. Details of all costs will be published very shortly when there has been time to discuss them with our Treasurer – Don Everton. Anyone who feels that they have something to contribute to the 2022 magazine is more than welcome to contact either of us. We can be reached on kathy.webb99@icloud.com or cranstal31@manx.net. 

We will be using Facebook pages for SGHC Members and the New Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club Centenary Information and Merchandise and The UK Saluki Friends for future announcements, plus the SGHC website. Information will also be circulated through Our Dogs Saluki Breed Notes. Please keep an eye out for updates, everyone.
