Special General Meeting postponed until 26 September 2023
Dear Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club members,
Following previous notification of the Special General Meeting called by the SGHC Committee using its powers under the Club Constitution, I write to advise that the meeting has been postponed.
Having had no response to the call made in the recent Club newsletter and in the SGM notification for members to express interest in joining the Committee, and with only four full voting Committee members, we are postponing the SGM to enable a full nomination process to take place.
Under ‘Rule 8(b) A Special General Meeting shall be convened on the requisition of the Committee or of not less than 15 members specifying the business to be transacted. The Meeting shall be held as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within 3 months after the same shall have been requisitioned. No business other than that specified in the requisition shall be transacted at a Special General Meeting.’
In line with the ruling detailed above and in order to give as many members as possible the opportunity to take part in the SGM, it will be held via Zoom, with the option for members to call in via telephone if they cannot join online. Full joining, an agenda and the amended 2022 accounts will be shared with members two weeks prior to the new meeting date, which is Tuesday 26 September 2023 at 7pm.
Should nominations for vacant committee positions not be received, the future of the Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club will be the first item for discussion on the SGM agenda.
