Lure Coursing

The SGHC Lure Coursing section held its first practice session on Saturday 12 November 2022 at a secure field near Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. The initial aim is to develop experience in setting up and safe operation of the newly-acquired Club lure equipment. I’m pleased to report that everything worked very well and the dogs had good runs over the 590m test course.

Further practice sessions are scheduled on Saturday 4 February and Saturday 4 March, both at 12.00 to 15.00 (subject to weather and ground conditions). 

We’re currently short-handed and would appreciate hearing from any members who’d like to join our team to practice set-up, lure operation and/or field management ready for a new round of Club lure coursing events.
